


Armando Y. Estevez Diaz, MSN, FNP-BC, ARNP is an ophthalmology specialist at The Selem Center, dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of eye diseases. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
Armando has over 17 years of extensive ophthalmology experience. He received his medical degree in Cuba at the Medical Sciences Institute Serafin Ruiz de Zarate of Villa Clara in 1998, where he practiced medicine in local communities until 2005. He then completed an ophthalmology residency at Arnaldo Milian University Hospital followed by a pediatric ophthalmology residency at the Cuban ophthalmologic institute Ramon Pando Ferrer in Havana, Cuba, practicing ophthalmology in both offices and hospital settings before moving to the United States in 2016.
He joined The Selem Center in 2018 as an ophthalmic technician, quickly advancing into senior technician and leadership roles through his dedication, clinical expertise, and patient-focused approach.
While working full-time at The Selem Center, Armando pursued his nursing education at Miami Regional University. After earning his nursing degree, he gained valuable surgical experience as an operating room nurse at both The Selem Center and Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. Driven to further expand his clinical knowledge and scope of practice, he earned his Nurse Practitioner degree from Miami Regional University in 2020, graduating with Honors and recognition on the President's List. In 2021, he became an Autonomous Nurse Practitioner and is board-certified by both the Florida Board of Nursing and the Florida Board of Nurse Practitioners.
